Huh?

I've had DC's "As lovers go" stuck in my head since Emma started singing it this morning.

I've been looking for a group picture of Dashboard Confessional for an hour now. Everytime I find some pics, they're not good, and then the rest of them are ALL of the lead singer, Chris Carrabba. Whatever. I'll post it, anway. Chris Carrabba = hott.

Since I've had DC stuck in my head all day, I listened to it in my car on my way to babysitting and other stuff tonight. Ahhh, gotta love it! One band that REALLY reminds me of DC is Further Seems Forever, one of the bands I'm going to see on the 11th!! Yes, I like Dashboard Confessional and FSF, and I have a vagina (who knew,
Tillman).

Today was a fun day. I went to Renaissance Fair in Charlotte. I was surpirsed that I had fun, is that weird? This past week I've been, well, dreading it. But chillin' on the bus, and talking with people whom I havn't spoken with about grade school memories was fun. The actual fair was coolio. It was rainy and cloudy and yucky, but the highlight of the day was when Paula and I ventured upon the "mater". I call it the "mater" for short. It was a booth where you pay a dollar and get a tomato and then you throw it about 25 feet away at this guy who's in a wall, yelling obsene things at you. HAHA. One guy was EFFING HILARIOUS. And he would talk to the crowd and stuff. HAHA. Fun times. The bus ride back seemed like it was NEVER going to end. I think it's because I wanted to fall asleep, and Paula wouldn't let me. At one point, I wsa turned around in the seat of the bus, and all I could see was the top of Tillman's head, and Zack's ball cap. So, when I went to squirm in my seat, I would catch a glimpse of Tillman mouthing the words to his cd. One time, I could SWEAR he was mouthing "baby" like five times in a row. I could just imagine Tillman listening to N'SYNC or something....no, I couldn't.

You know one thing I hate? I hate it that people in high school actually think that their relationship is going to last. Now, I know that there are a few 'high school sweethearts' that last forever, but that's a FEW. There's a freshman in my WH class that just got engaged to a 22 year old. WTF? I'm 17 and I wouldn't go out with a 22 year old. WTF is she thinking? I could also never even CONSIDER getting married. Right now, I'm too self-centered. I couldn't get married right now. I couldn't deal with my mom not ironing my clothes, or fixing dinner, or giving me money for gas and food and stuff. WTF? This 15 year old is getting MARRIED? It irks me and makes me feel sorry for her at the same time. Geez Louise.

Now that I've gone off on my tangent (SAT word, take THAT Princeton Review!), I'm going to leave you with a picture and MY favorite song by Dashboard Confessional.

Hands Down - DC

Breathe in for luck, breathe in so deep
This air is blessed, you share with me
This night is wild, so calm and dull
These hearts they race from self-control
Your legs are smooth as they graze mine
We're doing fine, we're doing nothing at all.

My hopes are so high that your kiss might kill me
So won't you kill me, so I die happy
My heart is yours, to fill or burst
to break or bury, or wear as jewelry
Whichever you prefer

The words are hushed, let's not get busted,
Just lay entwined here undiscovered.
Safe in here from all the stupid questions..
hey did you get some?
Man, that is so dumb.
Stay quiet, stay near, stay close
they can't hear, so we can get some.

My hopes are so high that your kiss might kill me
So won't you kill me, so I die happy
My heart is yours, to fill or burst
To break or bury, or wear as jewelry
Whichever you prefer

Hands down, this is the best day I can ever remember
I'll always remember the sound of the stereo,
The dim of the soft lights, the scent of your hair
That you twirled in your fingers
And the time on the clock when we realized it's so late
And this walk that we shared together
The streets were wet and the gate was locked
So I jumped it, and let you in
And you stood at your door with your hands on my waist
And you kissed me like you meant it
And I knew that you meant it
That you meant it, that you meant it
And I knew that you meant it, that you meant it.

Stop. Listen. And be merry.

I love music. I can't stand to sit at my computer for more than, like, 2 minutes without music playing. I absolutely can't stand to be in my car without music. Music is my master. Ahhh. I've got Howie Day stuck in my head...so enjoy the lyrics (download some songs) and be merry!
And TOTALLY pumped about the November 11th show at Ziggy's!! Sparta, Further Seems Forever, COPELAND, and Sunshine. That show's gonna be good!! Too bad that we have to go to friggin' school the next day. *sad face*.
sweet is the sight
of her room
window open
by candle light
how would you know
cold winter on the shore
chills the dress she wore
it's on the floor
still it feels so warm
today

and that's why i'm wondering
why you had to tell me
what's going on in your head
what's wrong
come around to another time
when you don't have to run

and when she says she wants somebody else
i hope you know
that she doesn't mean you
and when she breaks down and makes a sound
you never hear her
the way that i do
and when she says she wants someone to love
i hope you know
that she doesn't mean you

and when she breaks down and let's you down
i hope you know
that she doesn't mean you
swing into flight
over hills
over her hills it's twilight
yeah i guess that's right now
and while we're here, tell me
why it's so funny
that you're so funny
when you're mad
cause it's mad, so mad
and thats why i'm wondering
why you had to tell me
what's going on in your head
what's wrong
come around to another time
when you don't have to run

and when she says she wants somebody else
i hope you know
that she doesn't mean you
and when she breaks down and makes a sound
you never hear her
the way that i do
and when she says she wants someone to love
i hope you know
that she doesn't mean you
and when she breaks down and let's you down
i hope you know
that she doesn't mean you

i don't know where you're coming from
and i don't know where you're coming to
and i don't know what it means to me
and you don't know what it means to you
she doesn't mean you

I hope you know...that she doesn't mean you... Posted by Hello

This song + a Spiced Chai Latte = bliss

Here, comes the cold.
Break out the winter clothes
And find a love to call your own.

You...enter you.
Your cheeks a shade of pink
And the rest of you in powder blue.

Who knows, what will be?
But I'll make you this guarantee...

No way November will see our goodbyes
When it comes to December it's obvious why
No one wants to be alone at Christmas time

In the dark, on the phone,
You tell me the names of your brothers
And your favorite colors...I'm learning you.
And when, it snows again
We'll take a walk outside
And search the sky, like children do (I'll say to you..)

No way November will see our goodbyes
When it comes to December it's obvious why.
No one wants to be alone at Chrismas time.
Come January, we're frozen inside.
Making new resolutions a hundred times
February, won't you be my valentine?
And we'll both be safe till St. Patrick's day.
We should take a ride tonight around the town
And look around at all the beautiful houses.
Something in the way the blue light's on the black night
Can make you feel more
Everybody it seems to me,
Just wants to be, just like you and me
No one wants to be alone at Christmas time
Come January we're frozen inside
Making new resolutions a hundred times.
February, won't you be my valentine?
And if our always is all that we gave
And we someday, take that away
I'll be alright...if it was just till St. Patrick's Day.

My Shadowing paper....read if you want to be bored...

My Shadowing Experience...
On Tuesday August 24, 2004, I had the opportunity to "shadow" a professional business figure for a project in my Senior English class. I had a lot of fun on my day off from school, with my shadow person, Mrs. Allison Johnson.
Before starting this project, I did know a few things about the Real Estate business. For instance, I knew where the office of Mrs. Johnson was as well as the fact that realtors lead a very hectic lifestyle. I've known Mrs. Johnson for a long time, so the ladder, I know, is especially true.
Since I had the opportunity to shadow Mrs. Johnson, I knew that I could ask this professional figure some questions regarding her profession. So, I made a list of things that I wanted to find out about the Real Estate business. I wanted to learn about realtors salaries, educational requirements needed to do this job, any license requirements needed to do this job, the working conditions that realtors have to deal with, and if there were any advancement opportunities for people working in this particular field.
When asked if this shadowing project was just a school assignment or if it was a professional opportunity, I had to answer, "both." This was a school assignment. I had to complete a day of shadowing so that I could write this paper, and do a presentation about this job. If you want to pass Senior English, you have to complete this assignment. But, this was also a professional opportunity. This project gave me the ability to go, on a regular business day, and follow a real person doing this job. It gave me the chance to see if I would be interested in doing this job in the future. It helped me to see, also, what a normal day in the real world is like (a day without bells controlling a person).
There were a couple of benefits to doing this shadowing project. I got to get out of class. I also (as I said above) got to experience some of the real world.
Some of my "likes" of the day were how I was treated, and some of the things I got do do. First, I was treated very nicely by all of those I encountered. Everyone was very professional with me, and I wasn't treated like a high school student, but rather a young professional. I also enjoyed meeting lots of new people. Realtors are constantly dealing with the public, and meeting new people. And, on my shadowing day, I went to Rotary with Mrs. Johnson. Rotary is a weekly meeting of townspeople ranging from realtors, doctors, lawyers, and even our ex-mayor, Emily Taylor. Rotary was a very fun event of the day.
As much fun as I had while shadowing, I did have a few things that I didn't like very much. One of the things that I didn't like (at all) was a nasty home that Mrs. Johnson and I had to go look at and take pictures of. Doing the market analysis of the "nasty house" wasn't very much fun, either. I also wasn't very fond of all of the traveling that we had to do. Realtors literally live in their cars.
I was very happy with the way that I was treated by the people that I encountered. I was treated very well by all of the Town & Country office staff, as well as the many listers that I met with during the day. I really liked that I was treated like a young adult, not just a high school student.
There were some things that I was surprised by on my shadowing day. The amount of hours that realtors have to work was one of them. I really had no idea that realtors had to work so much! Mrs. Johnson said that, in a normal week, she works anywhere from sixty to seventy hours. I was also surprised by the amount of "random" things that realtors have to do. Not only must they maintain a large client list, take a million phone calls, have tons of meeting throughout the day, but they also have to take care of little small things that normal people would let slip through the cracks. Small things like remembering to play yard signs for homes, or going to a clients home to re-check room measurements or going by a clients work to speak with them about updates on their contracts.
My shadowing experience was very good! I enjoyed the entire day and had fun. On my shadowing day, I got up at 7:15 am (an hour later than usual) because I had to be at the Town & Country office at 9 am. I took a shower and got dressed, then I ate breakfast at home. I read the paper, and then I was off to see Mrs. Johnson!
When I arrived at Town & Country, Mrs. Johnson was not in the office yet, so I waited in the lobby for about ten minutes before she arrived. When Mrs. Johnson did arrive, she introduced me to the office staff, and we talked a little bit about the days' agenda. Mrs. Johnson informed me that I would be the photographer for the day. Then, she told me that we needed to go to a home and take pictures of the interior and exterior. Mrs. Johnson called this a "drive by" shooting.
We were on our way in Mrs. Johnson's SUV when we were discussing some of the questions that I was given for my shadowing day. I basically just fired off questions for Mrs. Johnson, and she answered them. She also threw in a few funny realtor experiences of her own.
We arrived at the home (in the middle of nowhere!) and Mrs. Johnson had already briefed me on what we were to do. We started off with taking pictures of the "grounds" of the home. It wasn't very impressive, at all. The grass looked as if it hadn't been mowed in months, and as we walked around to the backyard, it only got worse. There was an outbuilding that resembled a lean-to and I felt sorry for anything that might be stored in the building. As we explored the outside of the home, we saw that as the home was beginning to settle, that the foundation was cracking, and would eventually give way. Mrs. Johnson had me take pictures of all of the "grounds." After taking pictures outside, we went inside the home. It was just a little scary. The doors and almost all of the windows had cracks in the glass.
The first room that we entered was the living room. Littered with paper and trash. We took pictures of the living room and the "den" (as we called it) that was halfway broken through. Then, we moved on to the kitchen. In the kitchen, the first thing that we saw was rotted floors, and a gaping whole in the side of the back wall. We weren't sure how it got there, but maybe we didn't want to know. When we looked more closely at the kitchen, we saw that the ceiling and the tops of the cabinets weren't even touching. Because of the way the home was settling, and the way that the foundation was unstable, the kitchen wasn't even safe to be in. When we had had enough of the kitchen, we wandered around the hall.
The first door that we came to was the bathroom. When we walked into the bathroom, we saw that it had two different floors, and the sink was no longer attached to the wall; it was sitting on the floor. We saw the shower, and it had trash and bowls and spoons in the bottom. Of course, we took lots of pictures and went on. Our next stop, the "master bedroom". When we entered the bedroom, we saw that all of the windows had been broken out, and all of the walls looked as if they had been punched in. The wood paneling had been painted over with, quite possibly, the ugliest color green ever. The closets had no doors, and the light switches no longer had faceplates.
There was one more room in the house to photograph, and then we could leave. The other room was the second bedroom. It was like the master bedroom. Painted in the horrible shade of green, and the windows had been completely broken out. There was a lot of trash and papers and kitchen things on the floor. We got our pictures, and made our way back through the home, and out the door.
Once we had gotten back into the car, Mrs. Johnson shared with me a few more stories of how this wasn't the worst home she had ever seen. She also answered more questions from the question sheet I was given.
We made our way back to the Town & Country Office. We started off, back at the office, with Mrs. Johnson telling me that we were going to do a market analysis on the home that we just surveyed. Mrs. Johnson explained to me that we were going to go on the internet and find three homes that were worse than the one we just viewed, and that we were going to find three homes that were around the same level of pricing and liveablity, and finally, we were going to find three homes that were better than the home in question. We started our search and it took about thirty minutes before we found our nine candidates. Next, we started our market analysis. We went to a webpage and did the work. Basically, we entered in all nine of the homes and placed information about each of them (square footage, amount of rooms, extra utilities, etc.) that we found of the pages of the homes. I was dreading this market analysis, but it wasn't bad, at all. Mrs. Johnson was very patient with me, since I had no clue what I was doing.
After our market analysis was finished, we stayed at the office and heard of some more stories of realtors experiences. I also had the chance to ask some other realtors some of the questions from my question sheet.
It was almost lunch time now, and Mrs. Johnson and I got into her car and headed to Cross Creek County Club for her weekly meeting of Rotary. Rotary, I discovered, was a club that most business people in Mount Airy were involved it. It is somewhat of a charity organization. They help children at Christmas get toys and presents, and they also give money to a colony of lepers in Africa. Mrs. Johnson informed me that it was a good idea for realtors to be members of Rotary because it helped them maintain relationships with people in the town, and also helped her get new clients with recommendations from club members, to her.
We ate lunch (soup and salad) and then the meeting began. I was introduced to the room by Mrs. Johnson as her quest (any guest must be introduced) and Mrs. Johnson told the club that I was shadowing her for an English project at school. As "club stuff" got underway, we heard many speakers on the, then, upcoming event of Mayberry Days and Rotary's ties to the Mayberry Day golf tournament and other events.
After Rotary, Mrs. Johnson and I were on the road again. We made our way to the out-skirts of Surry County to begin listing a grocery store that was located there. We met the owner of the store and talked about the different steps that were going to take place after all of the contracts were signed. This part was mostly between Mrs. Johnson and the owner of the store. We talked for a bit more, and the owner asked lots of questions regarding all of the things that he should do.
Once we finished up out meeting with the client, we went made our way back into town. Once we were back, Mrs. Johnson drove around town to various homes that needed yard signs. While we were out placing signs, we dropped by a home on Grace Street to speak with a client of Mrs. Johnson's on the status of the home on the market. Mrs. Johnson told me that other realtors may just send out an e-mail, but that she thought it was important to talk to clients personally.
After placing yard signs, we returned to the office to do another market analysis on another home. Mrs. Johnson kind of let me do this by myself, since I knew how. Then, we made contact with a couple that was thinking of placing their home on the market. The couple was going to use the market analysis to determine the price of their home, if they places it on the market.
After the last market analysis, Mrs. Johnson and I talked for a little while longer about some of the questions I had. Then, she told me that I was free to go. The day had flown by, and it was already 3:30 pm!
From my shadowing day, I learned a lot of things. I learned that realtors work around the clock, having to cater to clients needs. I also learned that realtors must be very organized and keep up with lots of things. I learned a lot about the educational requirements for realtors. I learned that realtors have to pass a Real Estate class (60 hours), then they have to pass a state exam in the state where they are an agent, and they also have eight hours of "Continued Education" (a class to teach new Real Estate laws, etc.) a year. And I learned that salary is based on commission alone.
With regards to myself one day being a realtor, I can say that it is a possibility. I think that I would enjoy the job but I would have to work on my organizational skills. With the major I have in mind for college, this career is a possibility in my future.
I think that this assignment is very beneficial to students, especially seniors trying to decide what they want to do with their life. This assignment let me be able to take a step into the real world, see how I liked it, but also go back to being a student the next day. This assignment also let me see if I would, in fact, like to become a realtor in the future.
I do, however, have a few suggestions for improvement in this project. I think, that it would be great to have two excused days for shadowing, so that students could explore two different occupations, or shadow two different people in the same profession and contrast their experiences. But, I am glad that the resposiblity for setting up this project was given primarily to the student. It made the students do their own contacts and learn more responsibility.
As you can see from this paper, I had a BLAST on my shadowing day. I am really glad that I was given the opportunity to go and shadow a professional figure in my town, and learn the ropes about a profession.

"If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball. Dodge wrench, dodge ball."

I love needing a jacket to go out at night. I love getting to layer three shirts and wear comfy clogs. I love being able to see my breath when I breathe. I love my cheeks and my nose getting pink, with out the use of makeup. I love that light sniffling that I have do in the Fall.

Tonight, was ideal. I was bored all day long, so I decided that I would go to the Drive-In. But they've had the same two things (Shark Tale and Shrek 2) for three weeks. So, I called the "DT". Dodgeball was playing (yes!). I've wanted to see it, so I called up Sadie, and it was a date!
The movie was hilarious. Sara snorted through the whole thing!HAHA. The one-liners in that movie are awesome. Of course, the movie was completly predictable, but at least it was funny!! And after the movie, I went back and asked Matt what the "Christmas in a cup" stuff was at The Good Life. Then, he told us to wait because the "fat Ben" sang "Milkshake" at the end of the movie. I swear, we were all in the floor laughing at that part!
So, after the movie, Sara and I walked up to The Good Life Cafe and there was a show going on. So, while we waited on-line for about 10 minutes, we got to hear some songs the band was playing. The joint was packed, so I took my Spiced Chai Latte (sp?) and went back to my car. Ahhhh, Christmas in a cup. That stuff is the shit!
Then, Sadie and I headed to Lowe's Food because I needed some Burt's Beeswax. Gotta love it!! I also had a brief conversation with a guy named Cody who is a bagboy at Lowe's. I'd love to say it was romantic ('cause he was cute!) but we were discussing the random black cat that ran out before Sara and I in the lot. Haha.

But, the whole reason that tonight was ideal was that it was good, chilly weather and I saw a funny movie, laughed my ass off, got some warm, yummy "Christmas in a cup" and walked down an empty street window shopping. And I had FUN. I've really started to embrace the small town life. As much as I hate it here, I can see how, one day, I might want to come back here (for a visit).

Last night, I went to a wedding. I had been (sort of) dreading this the whole week. I went to the shower, and tought that the wedding was going to be horrible.
I had a blast! There were only 28 people there. It was small, and very nice. I talked to everyone at the party. I talked to Jim Grow (some of you might remember him from middle school, the computer teacher) for thirty minutes, and I actually enjoyed it! I met this freshman kid that goes to my school. His name is Brad and he's number 25 (I think) on the JV football team. He knew me and asked Mary (the Bride's mom, a good family friend) to introduce him to me. Fun times. After everyone left, my mom and I stayed and talked to Jenny and Randy (the bride and groom) and Mary for a long time. It was a lovely event. I'm really glad that I went.

Why do we think that dying things are so beautiful?

I've really started to notice how the leaves are changing around town. I love this weather. I love the fact that I have to have a jacket on in the mornings, before school. I love that I have to sleep with socks on everynight. I love how every store I go into, you can smell pumkin spice. I love how I can watch the green of summer fade into the warmth and coziness that Fall brings. I love having to crank my car to get rid of the cold window fog. I love how the frost looks on peoples yards. I love it!
There is a tree that stands just pass the entrance to my neighborhood. It's a fairly tall tree, and the leaves of the vines that grow up around it turn the most beautiful shade of orange I have ever seen. I look forward to seeing this every year. Every year I also think that I should take a picture of this tree, so that I could always see it. But that takes all the anticipation out of waiting for Fall, and that tree's leaves to turn the perfect shade of orange.

Today, I had a good day. I didn't think that I would because I got up and was still tired. Math was fun. We cheated off of the answer sheet that Haley found in the back. SCORE! I still had to leave a few wrong, because Belton would have never believed that I would get a hundred, even though he knows I cheated with Lauren.
English was the funniest thing today! Mrs. R was back from her surgery and she jumped right back into giving us 12,000 things to do. But, we had the BEST conversation about love today. She gave us a few handouts, and we were supposed to define True love. That's hard to do. Then she told us a few stories about growing up, and dealing with finding true love. It made me have the best attitude the rest of the day. Then, being the true English teacher she is, Mrs. R tied this into the Rennassance. Figures. It was really fun, though. She told us that in the older times, people were really into Austronomy. This got us on who was what sign. She went though the list and there were at least two people for every sign. Then, she called out my sign, Virgo. When I raised my hand, she noticed I was the only one and told the class I was the only one. Well, for some reason, EVERYONE turned around and starred at me. Then, Mrs. R blurted out "Well, Courtney's the only Virgin in this room!" and you can just imagine how people took that (although, it might just be true...). I never tought Nick Moore would quit laughing. (maybe you had to be there..)
More discussion in Mack's class. I love it when we can talk about things like last night's debate, and I can actually have an intellegent conversation. It makes me feel more adult when I am able to relate to such subjects.

I had a wedding shower to go to tonight. I thought that I was going to hate it, but I didn't. I really did have fun. I won a game and got some smelly-good lotion (Sweet Pea!!). The food was good (Mexican, Mary cooked!!) and then I just got to talk to everyone there. The only girl there that was around my age was Nancy (Mr. Grow's (from Middle School) step daughter), but I still had fun.

Now, I'm writing this while watching Jerry McGuire and avoiding my English Paper.

(I never spell check, just guess)

I'm the only Virgin on this blog! Posted by Hello

I just ended a sentence in a preposition...Mrs. Carson would kill me

There is just too much stuff for me to say!! I'll start with this morning.
First, I got up and saw a message from Emma about my blog, and telling me that she wasn't going to make it to Cal's b-day breakfast. So, I got dressed and went to Ocies and had breakfast and all. Holy Cow. Carrie was driving me nuts. I don't know what it is, maybe that I never see her anymore, so when we do hang out, we've both changed so much that (this may be one-sided) we can't stand each other. It might also have a little to do with Carrie being a complete blonde.
Math was hilarious. We finally had a test. Holy Cow. It might as well have been a group test, because we were talking to eachother the entire time. We were also giving "hints" to the other people about our extra credit question. The question was for us to name 10 US presidents. So, we all gave eachother names. Hilarious! Belton has, like, no control over us.
In English, I talked to almost everyone in the class, and chilled.
WH was fun today, because we did some notes on the French Revolution and then we talked while we were doing our work about the O.J. Simpson trial and it's likeness to the Scott Peterson trial. I love stuff like that. I love keeping up with current events and being able to follow "adult" conversations. If Mr. Dickson still taught at our school, I would take World Cultures every semester. And, I swear, if Mr. D was still here, I would take AP US History. I love history, and he is one of my all time favorite teachers. He actually TAUGHT class, and he made it fun. I guess it didn't hurt that he was teaching something that I happen to enjoy...
Today, in lunch it was SOOO funny. We were abnormally loud today, even though Ally wasn't there. And when Mrs. George was making her rounds, she stopped at our table and told us that we were really loud today, and to keep it down. She also demanded that Mikel keep his hands where she could see them because "we don't do that in this school." I DIED laughing when she walked off.
Journalism was especially fun today. I went and did survey with Matt Welker. He's my bud. We roamed the halls and then we were working on Bear Essentials. We went to Mr. Castillo's (sp??) room because we had met up with Kelly and needed to get some people out. I think it's hilarious to go to that class for a few different reasons. Everytime you ask for someone to get out, the teacher doesn't care. He even walked out while I was getting a picture of Mac climbing into a locker and said "don't mind me, please continue". It's so great! He sees us outside his door, talking for thirty minutes (I swear today, we had people out for 30 minutes and he didn't even car) and again...he could care less. I did feel bad today, though. Because when you do go to that class (Spanish 3) everyone begs for you to get them out. Today, I had to leave Emma behind because we already had 5 people out. Sorry Emma!! She even gave me the sad face/evil eye....But, I had to leave Tillman, too....and he gave me the REALLY evil eye. Haha.
After school, I went to babysit and I fell asleep. oopsy. It's not MY fault, it was rainy, and I fall asleep REALLY easily when it's rainy.
I came home to some YUMMY lasagna (sp?) and it was good. Then I HAD to get to work on my English Paper. Whew. I got about half of it done, so now I can forget about it until Sunday (the day before it's due).

I need to clean my room. It's getting to that point where even I can't stand it. My parents haven't even said anything to me about it. Why? I think they're too busy to care. Whatever...I guess I can work on it this weekend.

I think that I busted a speaker in my car. Infact, I know that I did. It's the front passenger-side door speaker. It buzzes all the time, and when I listen to "The General" by Dispatch ( a song with drums and bass thoughout the entire song) it sounds horrible. I really don't know how I did it. I mean, I don't listen to my music abnormally loudly. Hum. I started to notice it on Tuesday after noon. I wonder what my dad's gonna do when he comes to get my car tomorrow during school, and hears it make those sounds.

I've noticed, that I'll put a tab at the beginning of paragraphs, but when I publish it doesn't show up. WTF blogger?

Fathers be good to your daughters. Daughters will love like you do. Girls become lovers, who turn into mothers. So mothers be good to your daughters too. Posted by Hello

The ABC Code..

Maybe it's just me, but today, when the Seniors had our meeting about caps & gowns and stuff...it was so depressing. At one point (while I was using sarcasim to front about being sad) Mac turned around and said "Cheer up, buddy" and nudged my shoulder. Ugh. I don't know why, but I could have slapped him.
This whole "graduating" thing has me all messed up. Yesterday was the official half-way day of this semester. I am currently 1/4 of the way through my Senior Year. This makes me all depressed. I know that atleast five more times, I'll complain about how much I want to get out of here, but I always get out of that 'rut' and then I go back to not wanting to leave. Maybe I could fail all of my classes and then get to stay another year. Maybe not.

There is one thing that I won't miss when I do graduate and leave MA. That would be....*drum roll please...* All of the freaking drama that comes with this town. Mainly, my friends.
Now, every school has it's slut, it's tease, it's virgin, the horny one, and the fake virgin. I just happen to be friends with all of them.
P, can be put into a few categories, but she mainly fits into the "slut" one. P has/has had (it depends on the particular minute of the day) a boyfriend. Now, this boyfriend, I HATE. But she says that she loves him. Her actions never prove so. Ugh. P is also a MAJOR tease, but I have someone else in mind for that one.
S. S is a BIG tease. She always flirts with guys, and she even "jokingly" calls herself a "DT". WTF? You don't do that unless you want to have a bad reputation. S also has a boyfriend. But you really wouldn't know it sometimes.
The Horny one is L, hands down. She also wants to be the pot-smoker girl, but that one's not gonna work out. L is hard to explain. She's a really cool chick, don't get me wrong, but sometimes I have to question some of her motives.
The fake Virgin could actually be a number of people. But, I'm calling this one C. C is still a virgin, I know this. That's cool. She has a boyfriend, and he's really nice. I approve. But, I get this vibe around C. I don't know what it is. Maybe it's the fact that I've seen her and her boyfriend make out, on a regular basis....for the past year.
The virgin could be me. It could also be two other gals. These other two gals are really cool chicks. We're tight. We're cool. I have the upmost respect for these two girls. No "bashing" in this one, because there is nothing to bash.
(Geez, I feel a LOT better getting that crap out)

Tonight, I watched the movie Elephant. Dylan Gravely brought it to school and told me that I had to watch it. It was a good movie. It's kinda boring until the last, like 30 minutes. I mean, it follows 4 different highs school characters through one day and that day just happens to be the day that two kids from the school go around and shoot people. So, you see the same thing happen 4 different times. But, then, you start to piece the whole thing together. I make it sound boring, but it's really worth watching.

Tomorrow, I am meeting Cal and some people at Ocie's for a Suprise Breakfast for Cal's 18th birthday. I got her some bear earrings. I hope she likes them.

Raging Hormones

I don't know what's goin' on!!! My face is getting a lot of pimples lately. I havn't been eating chocolate, or anything like that. Right now, on the side od my nose, I have a HUGE knot underneath the skin. This thing is MONDO. If you look at my face head on, you can see the my nose is a little crooked (or, even more than normal). You know that ad for ...um...I think it's Car Insurence, with the kid with the yearbook picture and that HUGE zit on the side of his nose? Well, that's gonna be me in two days. Maybe it's my raging teenage hormones. But why NOW?! I just don't understand it. I've used every mask, scrub, and soap in my arsenal of face products, and nothing has happend (except the zit gets bigger!). I even used my Rapid Clear stuff. When I use RC at night, I KNOW that when I wake up my face will be clear. I've used it the past two nights and this zit still remains, clinging to the side of my nose. It hurts a lot, too.

I'm really tired tonight. I'm thinking of going to bed right now (7:11 pm). But, I know that if I do, I'll wake up at 3 am, and not be able to go back to sleep. Ugh. I could always clean my room.....but where's the fun in that?!

Or...

I made a new cd, instead of studying or working on my English paper. I mean, who really cares about the Byzentine Empire, or my shadowing experience? Well, I guess Mack and Mrs. R care...but I don't.

I also watched a show on ABC-Family. I don't know what the name of it was, but it lasted an hour. It was REALLY good. I guess I could look it up, but I'm too lazy/tired right now.

I guess I could go to sleep, huh? Or I could read some columns on ch.com.

The Looming Truth

I checked my countdown today...7 months, 2 weeks, and 1 day until MAHS Graduation. This is freaking me the fuck out. It all started last week, when I was informed that we were having a Senior meeting to get out measurements for our caps and gowns and information about invitations. Holy Cow. I thought we did that stuff next semester. This is killing me.
I really thought that I would be ready for this, but I don't think I am. Granted, I have 7 months, 2 weeks and 1 day to get ready for this. UGH.
My brother comes home this weekend, for, like, 11 days. I'm not sure how I feel about that, either. I get excited when my brother calls, I'm just not sure how I'm gonna take him using my computer when he doesn't ask me, and rummaging through my stuff while I'm at school. Hopefully, this will be a good trip for him. If not, he won't be back 'til Christmas.
While my brother's in town, I think we're going to go to Surry and see if I can go ahead and sign up for a night class (or two) to take next semester. I'm also scared about this. No one is going to be there with me. There will be no one to hold my hand. But, I'm not doing this for anyone else, I'm doing this for me. I screwed up in high school, and that's why I have to go to Surry. So I really shouldn't worry about what other people are going to think. But, I always do.

Last night, I posted about how I wanted to de-clutterfy my room. Well, today, I tried. I really did. I got up, took a shower, and started my laundry. I kinda left my room to be cleaned after I was going good on my homework. Well, I wrote an article for the paper (ohh yeah, the paper FINALLY came out Thurs!!! YAY!!) and then I just kinda chilled. I went shopping with mom for a "little while" which turned out to be almost 3 hours. But, I got a new skirt, and a dress that she thinks I should wear for Grad. Greeeeaaaat.
So, I guess that I really should put away my laundry, and attempt to get some work done on my English Paper....Or I could make a new cd because my old one's getting kinda dated...

PS - look forward to a new grammar lesson soon!!!

How Bazaar...

I've decided, that my room is entirely too cluttered. I have stuff EVERYWHERE. In my bathroom, alone, I have a TON of junk. Just stuff that I've accumulated over the years, that wouldn't fit into my room. Ha. My room is horrible for clutter. I have a bulletin board covered in old movie tickets, random awards, and other random stuff. I have three little boards with pictures all over them. I have a bookshelf with hardly any books, just stuff. I have drawers and a cabinet with stuff on them. My computer desk, geez. Don't get me started. I don't see how I get ANYTHING done with this much crap around it. My room is also NEVER clean. I always have something on the floor. Most of the time, it's clothes. I have clothes strone everywhere in my room right now. I have purses that I've used this weekend, my outline for my Shadowing Paper, and crap from my bag that I cleaned out yesterday, all at my feet.
What makes this worse, I have a TON of homework to get done. Yes, I know, I'm a procrastinator. And, I know that I COULD have stayed in this weekend and gotten some of it done, but how much fun would I have missed out on?!
So, today, I'm going to concentrate on doing ym laundry, my two papers for English, my articles for Journalism (due Wed....shit shit!), my work for World History, and I have some trig to do...But I don't really feel like breaking into the school and going to my locker to get it to do it. I also REALLY wanna de-clutterfy this pig sty that I live in.
OK, so, to make up for rambling on, and on, and ON about this...I give you, SOMETHING CORPORATE!

Little - SC

Climbing out of the sky a man who could fly
And a painting anyone could play
It's a comic book crush that taught you to trust
Staring out of the stands at a rock n' roll band
And a hero no one else could save
It was never much but it's all that you gave

And I wonder if you wonder, or did your stars finally explode?
Did the thunder pull you underneath the haze?
I'm amazed, than I let go

Little minds let little games burn big old dreams with little flames
And you don't think I understand
Little holes in parachutes won't leave you falling
If they do, it's because you want to land
Climbing out of his chair to fix the T.V. glare is a man
But no one knows he's there
It's a Dramamine dream that kept them alive but lost
She's got her plastic friends and a brand new Benz and she laughs
Hell, sometimes life ain't fair
It's a comic book crush that got them nowhere

And I wonder if you wonder, or did your stars finally explode?
Did the thunder pull you underneath the haze?
I'm amazed, than I let go

Little minds let little games burn big old dreams with little flames
And you don't think I understand
Little holes in parachutes won't leave you falling
If they do, it's because you want to land
These elevator doors are closing again you leave before I planned
I taste you walking down the hall
You left your perfume on the nightstand

HOW effing scary/sad is it that we're ordering Caps and Gowns and Graduation invitations this week??

Fast Times at Mount Airy High? Nah, we're missing the Jennifer Jason Leigh/Judge Reinhold combo... Posted by Hello

My LAST vocab story for Mrs. Ridolfi!!!!

I needed to get a head-start on my mound of homework. So, I started tonight when I got back from the movies (I saw Ladder 49 and EVERYONE should go see it!!! It's good!!)

John Jingleheimer (or J.J. as his peers called him) was very prone to pursuing and rejuvenating the reluctant plan to revise the ritual that took place every year. Some could argue and retaliate against the changes. After all, the original plan was very robust; but could stand a few rudimentary changes.
J.J. walked into the senior meeting, head held high. He could see that his peers were skeptical of his new changes to the tradition that had been going on for over 40 years. When John's name was called to present his idea to the rest of his class, he took his place on the stage to begin explaining his new idea. J.J. had decided that for his new plan to suffice, he would have to make a suitable presentation. J.J. was a bit nervous. So, to terminate his nervous feelings, J.J. told a few jokes.
After J.J. had finished his short presentation, he starred at his peers infront of him. No one could really tell what anyone else was thinking about these new ideas.
Suddenly, one student began to applaud J.J.'s plan. Then, in a tumultuous action, the rest of the senior class rose to their feet! Everyone was cheering for the new plan. It was clearly unanimous; a new senior prank would be "pulled" on their beloved high school.
In the urban city of Nombersakle, Mississippi one Senior Class would go down in history for changing the vague format for senior pranks at Bertha Manalciple High School. To venerate J.J. for his awesome new ideas, the Senior Class decided to verify this day as John Jacob Jingleheimer Shmit Day, as it was his full name.
So, with a new plan in mind, the vicarious Senior Class marched into the vicinity of the school grounds. It was vital now, that all seniors participating in the Senior Prank continue their vivid actions through this prank on their school.
The prank went off without a hitch. It was beautiful, and all masterminded by J.J.
When J.J. went off to college, his crazy prank ideas became a vocation. He was a true mastermind.

Also, Mount Airy beat Starmount tonight!!! Thank GOODNESS the kicker lost it on his last kick!

*sniffle sniffle*

The title for this blog holds two purposes.
One, last night, I went to see The Notebook at the "DT" (Downtown Cienema). Holy Cow. I read the book a while ago, so I knew how it ended and all. But hell, that movie was SOOO good. It was on again tonight, but I couldn't go (more about that later) but it's also on Wed. too. So, I think I'll try to make it to that one. I have to make sure I bring some more kleenex this time..

Second, I am getting sick. I can actualy feel the cold germs invading my body. Slapping around my good, healthy cells and making them weak. Mean germs.
I've had a headache today, and I've taken three tylenol and two day quils. Before I go to bed, I'm taking a swig of nite quil. Ugh..

Now, I'm off to perfect (phh, right) my part for English tomorrow (The Canterbury Tales) and get some much, needed rest.

Knapsack Straps

HAHA. Say that five times fast!

I'm mad at Coach Belton. He was out of class today, but just OUR class. So, he left us a quiz to take. It wasn't so bad, but it took Blood almost the ENTIRE TIME to finish it. So we couldn't talk until he finished; even though he didn't care. Ugh. We also had Mrs. Coone for a sub. Mrs. Coone and I don't get along too well, so it was a LONG first period. A LONG class with me giving her hell.
English was ok. We read the Wife of Bath tale today, and Mrs. R assigned parts, but left out the part of the old, ugly woman. So when we got to her part, she asked me to read. Ugh. It wouldn't have been too bad if she had given me warning that my part was three pages long. I did, however, get to bless out Kenan for being an asshole, and I also got to turn into a beautiful YOUNG lady at the end. HAHA!
WH was so-so. We took 3 pages of notes, and did some bookwork. I learned that my average in there is around a 94. Ohh yeah!
Lunch, I was in journalism, listening to Mrs. Carson ramble on.
Fourth, I was subjected to even MORE rambling. Whatareyagonnado? The Paper is almost done, and I think it goes to print tomorrow. Praise Allah!
Babysitting was ok. I fell asleep, AGAIN. I left, went to Subway, came home, then went to Wally World not too long ago. Hopefully, I won't have to be back anytime soon.
The first Pres. Debate is over. Kerry sounded like a jackass jerk, and Bush pronounced "Kim Lee" (the leader of North Korea) 5 different ways. He also seemed to get distracted by the little light that flashed when their time was getting close. The future of our nation, ladies and gents.
