looky!

While trying to find an old post from this blog, I stumbled on to a post that I hadn't even remembered writing. I found ten goals that I set for myself on the eve of my 17th birthday:

1 - Loose 20 pounds. (I'd really like to loose like 1000, but lets be practicle).
2 - Graduate high school (on time).
3 - Go to college.
4 - Figure out what I'm going to do for the rest of my life.
5 - Be a published author (and if push-comes-to-shove, I can count my BEAR GROWL articles).
6 - Read 5 thick books (Includes "You can't go home again").
7 - Be absolutely happy for a solid period of time.
8 - Get my first kiss.
9 - Make the first move.
10 - Read my horoscope every single day.

5 out of 10...not bad. And I've got until August 30 of this year to get the rest of them accompliched!

"Let's not play that pronoun game"

I began the start of my college career this morning, at approximately 8:04 AM.

My professor was mad because the Coke machine ate his dollar.

My first class was English 111 (Expository Writing). You know, for the longest time I thought that grammar was important in papers. Well, since my professor was born and raised in Surry County, he thinks that you don’t have to know what the problem is called, just for us to make sure that “it sounds right”. WTF?

We have a paper due each week. Eight-to-nine pages long. Eh. I’m not really looking forward to that. And, we do tons of peer editing. I hate peer editing.
We also do these things called ‘journals’. In our journal, we’re supposed to write five times a week (and one of the days must be a weekend). We are allowed to write about anything we want to as long as somewhere in the one page, written entry, we answer the question “So what?”. Um…I asked him twice during class what that meant, and I’m still not sure.

I guess I can just ramble and complain for a page in my journal every class day…and then talk about boredom on Sunday (because that’s most DEF when I’ll be doing my entries).

We also have to come to class EVERYDAY with four questions about our reading or an assignment we had.

Freshman year in high school we had to show our homework to Mrs. Martin before she would let us into class because no one ever did their Algebra work.

Jon Thomas = Elizabeth Martin.

Now, on to my second class. Math.
People, who know me, know that I HATE MATH. Well, this guy (Mr. Shantz) asked me to tell him what my feelings toward math were. My response: I’m not fond if it, at all.
I’m not sure if I got off on the wrong track with this man, but at least he didn’t give us 47 pages to read in a stupid writing book.

Maybe I should print this page out, and put it in my journal.

Not complaining, by the way, I’m just putting my thoughts down on my Word Processor, because I need to free ‘writer’s block’ aaaaaaaaaaaandd, I haven’t posted in a while.

Need a light?

Tonight was the Service of Celebration for the 2005 graduating class of Mount Airy High School.

I didn’t cry.

I’m happy that I didn’t cry. But I almost did. I want so much not to be sad about graduating. I want this to be a happy time.

On Friday, I graduate from high school. It’s crazy. It’s like a goal that’s always been there, and I’ve always wanted to reach it, but it still seems so far away. It’s like the next five days of my life are going to be like the longest days I’ve ever thought I’ve had. Times 100.

Usually for big events like tonight, I don’t feel like I’m there. I feel like I’m a spectator for the event.
But tonight, I was very grounded. It felt really weird.

I want to take lots of pictures with everyone of my friends. But, at the same time, I just want to make a mental memory.
Is that weird?

I can’t believe I didn’t cry. It’s like not crying the first (or second) time you see The Notebook. It’s just not done.

I don’t know how the next 5 days are going to be. I’ve got a lot of changes coming my way.

It’s not just high school ending, it’s the start of my college career. Crazy?
I’m resorting to my usual and just wanting all of this to be over with, and just get a new routine in place. But I don’t want the next 5 days to end.

I’m stuck.

I want to enjoy all of my friends while I still can. But I want to jump into a whole new scene. I want to love my last two days at MAHS (even if they are exam days), but I want to learn the ropes in college.
It’s taken me 4 years to get completely comfortable in my ‘high school skin’ and now, it’s going to change before I know it.

I don’t know how to go about dealing with this.

The next week is going to be insane.

The people you're sharing your ideas with on Monday have radically different perspectives than you do -- and that, you've come to realize, is a good thing. It keeps you honest. And it makes you think about things you wouldn't normally consider. This week will be good practice for going with the flow (especially on Wednesday) and for getting along with strong, creative personalities (especially on Thursday). On Friday, recent efforts in your love life are going to pay off big time. What with all the change in the air, you'll feel like a completely new person come Sunday.

Don’t change your name keep it the same
for fear I may lose you again
I know you won't its just that I am unorganized
And I want to find you when something good happens

if you come down we'll go to town
I haven't been there for years
but I’d be fine wasting our time
not doing anything here
just doing nothing

We’ll sit for days talk about things
important to us like whatever
well defuse bombs walk marathons
and take on whatever together

My amazing ablility

I'm not sure how I piss people off, but I'm really freaking good at it.

Friday, May 13, 2005

Ahh...

You know what’s great?

Hanging out with friends.

It’s wonderful.

Today in journalism, I went out with G-Unit (Caitlyn), Taylor, and Tillman. It was so much fun! I haven’t been out with them in a while, because I’ve had to do layout and stuff. But I missed it SO much.

We went to Pony’s (Taylor) house, and we sat around and watched t.v., and raided the pantry, and Tillman sang for us. We just hung out.

I’m sure going to miss these guys.

My graduation gift??? Posted by Hello

M.J.B.

I’ve made a decision. I will no longer allow myself to be put in situations that have the chance to turn into drama.

I hate drama.

No more drama.
I'm really going to miss this.. Posted by Hello

.

I don’t want to plan vacations, and never go on them. I want to visit the far corners of the globe, and have a blast doing it.

I want to embrace change, and never regret anything.

I want to look forward to the big milestones in life, not dread them.

I want to be everything I can possibly be, and love every minute of it.

Everybody has their day
Where things just seem
To go their way
An angel's gonna
Smile on me
When it's meant to be
'Cause anything is possible
No matter how incredible
You never know who I might meet
On this crowded street
Life goes on
Like a song

I can't wait for the world to spin
I can't wait to be happenin’
Ooh, what's it gonna take?
I can't wait for the time to come
When I'll be shining like the sun
I can't wait
I haven't got forever
And I haven't got all day
Oooh, I don't want my world to stay the same
So where's a magic moment
To carry me away
I can't wait for the world to spin
I can't wait to be happenin
Ooh, what's it gonna take

Update

I’ve been out of school for four days straight. Actually, six, because I was out two days last week for Senior Trip.

Holy Shit.

Well, I look at it like this, I only have to pass Show Choir to graduate..
That’s really the slacker’s way to look at it, huh?

I think I get to go back to school tomorrow. Which pumps me up. Whoa. I never thought I’d say that. Anyway, I’ve missed interaction with people, besides my parents and the people at the doctor’s office.

It’s May 5 (cinco de Mayo), and I graduate on May 27. Whoa. I have 22 days until I graduate. It’s scary (yeah, I’ve said it before..) but I’m starting to become more comfortable with it. Aaaaand, my brother comes home this weekend, and we’re going to go register for my summer classes. Aaaaaand, on Wednesday I get my braces off!
None of those things have to do with my graduation, but, whatever.

I can’t believe that all I’ve done for the past four days is sleep, and I’m still freakin’ tired. Ughhh.

Maybe school won’t be too bad for me. I mean, missing six days in Physics…how bad could it be? Don’t answer that (as if you could). Who knows?! Maybe someone missed me while I was
gone!

Havin' us a ball, y'all

I got back from Senior Trip yesterday. Ahh, I had a blast! I rode a lot of rollar coasters and had a ball with my fellow Seniors. I'm just sad that it's over. It was the last big thing to look forward to, of Senior Year. Now, I graduate in 25 days. Holy shit.

Wed. Night

Got on the bus around 9:30-ish..Talked for a while, watched For the Love fo the Game (which is the worst movie ever), stopped a few times, finally got some sleep from 4:30-7:30.

Thursday

Ate breakfast at the World's Largest McDonalds, went to Islands of Adventure theme park.
I RODE THE HULK! Then a couple of water rides. A fun day!

Thursday Night

The group went to Old Towne. I watched my crazy-ass classmates ride the Sling Shot ride. They really were nuts! Then I walked around with Paula and Sara and shopped and stuff. Sara, Paula, Russ, Taketra, and I ordered pizza and hung out when we got back to the hotel.

Friday

Went to Sea World and rode two kick-ass rides! The Journey to Atlantis and Krackin' were the shit! I was able to touch a dolphin, and I got splashed by a 12,000 pound whale!
After Sea World we went to Wet'n Wild. I was so proud of myself. I walked around in my bathing suit all day. And I didn't much care what people thought about me. I know it sounds stupid, but I don't care. I had a lot of fun chillin' in the lazy river and the wave pool. Then I went and lay out with a lot of people. It was great just to sit around and talk to everyone.

Friday Night

We went to Downtown Disney. Sara, Paula and I tried to go to a few places for dinner, but we had to settle for dining at McDonalds. But Betty made it fun. We actually dined at a French Bistro pronounced "Mic-don-el-days". We ate fine frence cuisine, on fine china, and enjoyed our meal underneath the stars.

Saturday

We went to Universal Studios. I 'rode' Shrek 4-D, Twister, MIB, and Earthquake. Then we (Jordan, Chasiti, Tareka, Paula, Sara, Mark and I) went to a pizza place for lunch. It was really good! Then we all went to Islands of Adventure. We all split up to ride other stuff. I went with Tareka and we rode Spiderman twice, and two more rides in the kiddy park. Then me and Tareka had just enough time to get back to the Mummy Returns to use our express passes.
I had the most fun that day. I rode a ton of rides and had a BLAST.

Saturday Night.

We went to Sluthe's Mystery Theatre. It was fun. We all asked the actors crazy questions and ate dinner.
Then when we got back to the hotel, I went to Tillman, Preston, Mikel and Christian's room for some entertainment. Ahh, that was the most fun. Pony and Preston trying to bench-press Tareka, ass face! And Tillman sang 'Big Dipper' which pumps me up. And then he sang one of Preston's songs, and a few other songs, too.
Then I retired to my room and hung out with Sara and Paula until we all fell asleep, sometime after 2 am.

Sunday

Got up, took a shower, packed, got on the bus...rode for a freakin' long-ass time. I chilled and watched some of the movies we had, talked to people, and listened to music. I enjoyed Florida, but I was glad to be home.

Sooooo glad I went.

Senior Trip was wonderful.
