"This is how it works, you're young until you're not, you live until you're done, you try until you can't, you laugh until you cry, you cry until you laugh, and everyone must breathe until their dying breath...But this is how it works, you peer inside yourself, you take the things you like, and try to love the things you took, and then u take that love you made and stick it into some, someone else's heart, pumping someone else's blood, and walking arm in arm, you hope it won't get harmed, but even if it does, you'd just do it all again..."

I've said this about a million times, but I don't know if I ever said it on my blog..
The questions of where you were when Columbine, 9/11, and the day that Michael Jackson died are my generation's markers.
As I sit here listening to Pink Floyd's "Time" and pondering what is to come, a wave of sadness hits me like a brick wall. And I realize. I am an adult. And these generational markers are occurring in my time.
I know where my mother was when Elvis died (she was at marching bad practice at Mount Airy High School on the football field, and it was announced on the intercom) and now...I will tell my nieces and nephews of the tragedies that occurred before they were born, too.
My parents' generation has the "Where were you when Kennedy was shot" question.
I am only 21, and I already have a lot of generational markers/tragedies.
Does life/existence grow exponentially?
(I really want to use the word "half-life" here...but I don't think it's the right way to explain this new theory)
This week has been kind of crazy. Jon and Kate are getting divorced and Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, and Michael Jackson all died. E! News has been ridiculously busy.
(OK, so, I took a 3 hour break writing this post and I got cheered up, so it didn't end up as serious as I was originally intending. But I really hope you understand what I'm trying to say. If not, I will get back to this eventually.)
For now, one of my favorite Michael Jackson songs:

The warm weather has officially hit the mountains of North Carolina.
For some reason, I thought it would take at least two more weeks to arrive (until July) but no, it is HOT.
I'm smack-dab in the middle of my internship.
I say this EVERY summer and I always wish I hadn't later...but I want September!
I want classes this summer to be over with, I'm ready to see if my GPA has gotten ANY better, I'm ready to RAness to start again, I'm ready for AXiD Chapter meetings, I'm ready for my fall classes. I want my routine.
I started this because I thought it would be a long post...and now I have nothing to say..
I'm going to sleep with an ice pack and hope that the air decides to come on tonight.

Stuck.in.my.head.
It was 5:45 on a friday
I was waitin' for a train goin' my way
I stood packed on a platform in Brooklyn
Where everybody's pushin', but nobody's lookin'
So I got crushed in the rush for the subway
By the little old man tryin to shove me
Well I noticed her when I glanced sideways
And felt continents shifting inside me
I was dressed in my best polyester
And I could tell that the plastic impressed her
Cuz she smiled as she eased up beside me
And then she said she had things to confide, see
She said her dad ran away with Samantha
The middle-aged exotic dancer
So her mom had to turn to her savior
And here's the advice that he gave her
He said reese's pieces, sweedish fish
Oodles of skittles and red liccorice
Marshmallow mints and a chocolate kiss
And it melts in your mouth like this
Take out your contacts and look at the screen
Take off your make-up and look at the scene
If you break your restrictions, then you'll understand me
Take your persrciption of sugar and candy, oh yeah
We arrived there by way of the highway
After night drives with trinklets and tirades
To a town bound with old guards and dry docks
Bored I drug my ass of the bus and hit the sidewalks
I stumbled by the lane name of My Way
And got caught in the street by treading lightly
The fish passed me by led by fish hooks
I hit pop flies and caught their strange looks
But one figure struggled just to stand there
He was a one-legged man in his wheel chair
I struck out a course for his lantern
I put out a hand and then he grabbed me
He told a lifetime of boxcars and bi-ways
Of the times of stock yards and chain gangs and two legs
He offered his advice for a penny
And for that small price here's what he gave me
Take out your contacts and look at the screen
Take off your make-up and look at the scene
If you break your restrictions, then you'll understand me
Take your persrciption of sugar and candy, oh yeah
Obviously, I didn't type this...I could never use "cuz"
Still a GREAT song!

Google knows too much.
Ok, so, my school is super poor these days (yes, I do usually refer to it as a "punk-ass university") so we are getting ready to switch our e-mail to Gmail.
I have a Gmail account already. And I looooove it. So tonight I decided to attempt to switch my school e-mail to my new school Gmail.
I got a little scared.
So, then I decided to browse around my current Gmail and see what all it can do. I updated my calendar with all of my summer dates (and loved it...I'm such a dork) and then looked around some more.
I've already used Google Docs (I don't know if I wrote about this last summer, but I wrote a 10 page paper on Google for my marketing class...that really had nothing to do with what I was talking about...shit), so I continued to browse.
"Pictures" that sounds cool...I'll go to it next....
...........it has all of the pictures I've ever posted to my blog. And all of my profile pictures. Ever.
Whooooasies.
I know that Google owns Blogger...but I wasn't ready for that.
But the cool new thing that I just learned is the "Sites" button where you can make your own website...that will look spiffy when I present my internship!!

Rose, Rose, I love you.
It's FINALLY summer, I (barely) passed all of my classes, and I'm already back in Asheville.
I love this place.
So, I got back on Monday after leaving Friday night...home was...home? I guess..
I have internet in my room finally! So, I'm going to try to update way more often.
As for now, I just ripped my room apart fixing my cable wires...so I have to put it back and unpack...
More later!
