I have to do a crap load of accounting right now, but this is my way of procrastinating and venting and relaxing all at the same time.
I’ve been here, like three weeks. My roommate and I are starting to get along more, but she still annoys the crap out of me sometimes. But I guess that’s normal.
Classes…SUCK
Theatre isn’t really that bad, I just expected it to be easier (I know, I know) and the teacher doesn’t seem to understand that we all took it as a BS course to fill a requirement that none of us care about. Also, it’s at 9:30 in the morning…..
Hospitality isn’t horrible. The teacher doesn’t teach, he kind of…um…supervises field trips? And, he’s a flamer…which is hilarious if you were in class and got to see him. Ohhhh goodness.
Business Law. Not cool. That is all.
Macro Economics…holy cow. When did this stuff get hard? I mean, I made an A in Micro (in the land of easy classes) and here.. I’ve gotten 8.2s on both of my homework assignments so far. (8.2 out of 26…you do the math). The teacher really…doesn’t…teach. He walks in and starts lecture, and when we (the entire class) ask him questions, he makes us feel stupid and has no care to help us.
Accounting. I still can’t understand a damn word this man says. Ohh, and he likes to pick on me because I have YET to get a single answer right when he calls on me.
I sound like I’m miserable. And sometimes, I am. I get really tired of trying to stay out of my room, the cafeteria food SUCKSSS (more about that later), and I miss my friends and family more than I ever thought that I would.
I went home the first weekend. And the second for Labor Day (and went camping…had a BLAST…wish I could do it every weekend…for those who know me…I couldn’t believe it either..it was WONDERFUL), and just last night, I had to go home again.
I have food poising. Which caused me to miss Macro and accounting on Wednesday, and I only had Law today, but I had to miss it, too. (The doctor’s actual words when I asked her about going to class “Do you like barfing in front of 100 people?” So, I opted not to go..) I’m feeling better now. I’ve stopped throwing up, and stopped having to go to the bathroom as often, in general (I will stop there to spare you all.)
It does sound like I’m miserable, and, like I said, sometimes I am. But it’s getting better. I’m not going home this weekend because it’s the first home game. But Amber and Corey are coming up here. A little slice of home, I guess. I’m getting used to meeting more new people, and I see people I know all the time. Everything is becoming more familiar to me. And I’m very happy…because I was seriously starting to doubt the decision to come here.
So, there’s my update for now. I want to be REALLY happy the next time I write something, so that the 2-3 people that read this don’t get too worried about me. I’ll be fine, and thank you for your concern. (AKA, I MISS AND LOVE YOU KAT!! I wish we would have gotten the chance to hang out before we left, I haven’t seen you since LAST Christmas. You are the wisdom and guidance in my life sometimes…and you can make it all make sense.)

COLLEGE
So, I'm here. In Boone.
I'm actually in the biggest friggin' library ever, bored, and on a 4-hour break between classes.
I've been here almost a week.
Friday I moved in, and met my roommate. Peice of mind: don't pot-luck roommates. Sometimes you get someone cool, sometimes you get a hermit. That's all about that for now.
Saturday I stayed in my room and put stuff away, and then I went to a party at midnight. I got wasteface...if I drunk dialed you and you didn't find it amusing, I apologize.
Sunday, again, I stayed in my dorm (I really should have figured out the whole 'I have a really boring roomate that never goes anywhere, does anything, or even wants to' thing then, but I was stupid). I went out that night, only I finally convinced Kristyn (the roommate from hell) to go with me. I drank, she didn't. I mingled, made friends, watched a guy last 46 seconds on a keg-stand, she didn't. She stood at the wall, with her hands in her pockets and pouted until I agreed to leave. At 12:00. Soooo not cool.
Monday was a fun day at Campus, I met up with my friend from orientation named Kristine and we got her books, ate and walked around to find our classes and stuff. That night some ALSOME DZs kidnapped me from my dorm and made me low-fat peach cobbler and let me be normal for a few hours.
Tueday was the first day of classes. I had Intro to Theatre, Intro to Hospitality, and Business Law. But, I had the final two with Kristine, so there was someone there to poke me to stay awake.
Wedensday I had two classes, Macro Econ and Accounting 1. Holy crap, this semester is going to be hard.
Even though I have only been here for a week, I'm totally overwhelmed. At first, I wouldn't admit it, I just thought that I would get used to this. But no shit, the first 5 minutes on campus the first day of class, I saw more people than I would have if I would have walked around all week at Surry. Where the HELL did all of these people come from ("And how soon can they leave, normally I'd be into it but I need to get some sleep"). There are 15,000 (litarally) people here. it's nuts. I've wanted to go to this school since my freshman year in high school, and now I'm totally rethinking it. It's SOOO huge. It's not like I'm afraid of the people, I'm afraid of all of the people coming at me at once.
I don't know if it's just my nerves, or if I'm just being paranoid or what. But I'm not sure that this was the best place for me. I really hate to be second-guessing my choice, but here I am. Doing it again (and well too, I might add). It's only the first week, and I'm seriously considering going back home this weekend. But I have a good reason. I need to do laundry (the laundry room in the dorm/hotel isn't done yet, and I'm running out of undies. It's almost my birthday, so maybe I'll get some early gifts, and I really want to watch tv 24/7 because I can't do that here, because my roommate sucks ass.) **That was a really long run-on sentence and Betty Ridolfi would bitch slap me if she saw that**.
So, that's my rant for now. This has been one of those times when I kinda just needed to get it out "tell somebody", if you will. Although I doubt anyone will read it, and if they do, want to comment on it. It's just kinda one of those letters-you-never-send kind of deals.
Ahhhh. Ok. I'm going to read because I already have an essay to write, a bajillion pages to read, and all before class at 3.
*By the way, if that random song lyric was annoying you too (tenth 'paragraph') I'll tell you that it's Designs on You by The Old 97's. It was bothering me too, so I looked it up.

Rains in Asia - JUMP
She likes the photograph
The one of you and Simone
Out in the rain on a Sunday morning
She likes to take it out
Only when she's feeling down
And then she says "Can you hear it raining?"
She wants to know does everyone feel this way
When it rains in the summertime
She wants to know does everyone feel this way
When you're sure that he's gone forever
When it rains in Asia
It makes her feel this way
California
London, Bombay
When it rains In Asia
She likes to take the train
Down to washington square
And hear the buskers sing oh suzanah
She likes to let it come
Right to the tip of her tongue
And then she feels like an angel talking
She wants to know does everyone feel this way
Outside the walls of America
She wants to know does everyone feel this way
When you're sure that he's gone forever
When it rains in Asia
It makes her feel this way
California
London, Bombay
When it rains in Asia
She wants to know
Is it always, always raining somewhere
When it rains in Asia
California
London Bombay,
When it rains in Asia
The one of you and Simone
Out in the rain on a Sunday morning
She likes to take it out
Only when she's feeling down
And then she says "Can you hear it raining?"
