I've got "Ride wit me" by Nelly STUCK in my head!

A bunchastuff.

So, my future boss, Mike Bowers the CD (Community Director) for Governor's Hall and Villiage on campus added me on facebook a little while ago.

It was so weird, I was like "Are bosses really adding me on facebook?" He's only 4 years older than me, so I call that the "peer zone." So, I added him back. And I thought for a split second that I should take down all the stuff on my profile that was bad, and then I realized that my facebook isn't set to a limited profile, so my future bosses have already seen my intoxicated pictures on facebook. Whatev, yo.

I had some more stuff to say, but now I can't remember.

Ohh yeah! My friend (actually, the only person on the planet who remembers I have this thing and reads it) is getting MARRIED in ONE MONTH.

Ahhhhhhhhh. I'm SOOO happy for her, but it's soooo weird. Ahhhhhh. My friend has a built-in date for reunions now. Whoa.

Wow..I sound really elementary, huh?

HANSON is coming to The Orange Peel on May 5, and NO ONE wants to go. Losers. We all loved Hanson, I know it, so someone should come with me, dammit.

For your own enjoyment:

I've been downloading songs like WHOA. And they're all old school, too. I got some Mariah Carey that I def BUSTED out singing at work today (Ohh yeah, I was alone in the gallery again today..ha!).

There was no point to this post, except getting some stuff out and procrastinating.

And
so
yeah.

Get it?

I have this friend, named Amanda Alvarez, who is basically the shit. She's like a younger, funnier Kathy Griffin. She's moving into her loft in a couple of weeks, and she bought this Buddah candle holder thing, and she said that every week she's going to put up a new picture beside of the Buddah, and see if people can see the relation...

So, I'm an RA.

Wow.

Still processing.

Kind of weirded out.

Very happy.

Very worried about where I'm living next year...and if I'll ever find a job for this summer, and if I'll ever get out of school.

The usual, I guess.

What will happen next? I don't wanna know

Actually, I TOTALLY do.

In 12 hours, I will know if I'm an RA at UNCA! I'm freeeeeaaaaaaaking, which is why I'm posting at 3 am.

Short Story:

Today was room sign up day (side short story: I was talking with my current roommate outside of the room where we were doing sign ups, and I was talking about how packed it was and how weird it was to do this, because this was the first time I had done room sign up, because it's the first time I've been at a school for more than one year...I kind of think that's funny..is that normal?) Anyway, I REALLY wanted to live in The Village, which is a set of buildings with SINGLE rooms. I have grown to love and appreciate my past two roommates, but I could REALLY do without a roommate (I think). So, I was pretty bitchy to ANYONE who tried to cur in front of me, because The Village (Also Governor's Village, if I call it by that later, it's the same thing...not trying to confuse the one person who reads this thing). So, (ok, this isn't going to be such a short story), I'm trying to be an RA, and one of my potential bosses, Mike, saw me and Randy (we're trying the whole "friends" thing) in line with another girl named Libby and recognized us and even knew our names (I was thinking "humm..trying to remember our names? DOES THAT MEAN WE'RE IN?). So, that happened, and then there was a shifting of the line about a MILLION times, and finally, I was getting somewhere in this line, and Ryan the CD (community director,(have I explained this before?)) saw me in line, recognized me, knew my name, and asked me to raise my hand to act as a "pole"... or benchmark...the best words I can find..does this make sense? Anyway, so he used me to cut off the line, which was cool, because HE KNEW WHO I WAS! Maybe they're trying to learn me because I'm hired??? I have no idea.
So, I finally got to go in the room (they only let 15 people in at a time..very annoying), and I GOT THE ROOM I kind of wanted. I wanted an corner room, but I really just wanted a single in The Village. So, Ashe 207 is my new hommmmme!

But, as I was walking out, I had to see this women named Tara, who was putting the new rooming assignments in a computer. At the table with Tara was Melanie. Melanie is the lady IN CHARGE of hiring/firing EVERYTHING to do with RAs. So, at the table she took my form, and this is what happened: I handed her my form
Melanie: Hi, how are you?
Me: Great, how are you?
Melanie: I'm good, did you get a spot?
Me: Yes ma'am.
Melanie: Well, it won't matter, you're with us.

WTF??? WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? SO, ever since about 12:15 today, I've been FREAKING. Not only because tomorrow (today)'s the day, but because of that comment.

See, any NORMAL person would be like, "GREAT! I'm IN!" But I can't belive that. Maybe I look like another applicant, and she mistook me for someone, and she really meant to tell Jane Doe that SHE was going to be an RA. WTFFFFFFFFFFF?

So, I've been DWEALING on this all day. And it's makin' me crazy!

Also, tonight I was reminded of my love for a band named New Found Glory, and the song "I don't wanna know" which I switch over and play about every two or three songs. It's great, if I think about it, I'll pose it. It's great.

Also, I discovered Podcasts tonight. GREAT AND FREE. I have all of them Jason Mraz did. And no matter where I live next year, I'll be annoying the crap out of my neighbors.

"Keep bleeding, keep keep bleeding love" - Leona Lewis..what I'm listening to now..I don't quite get it..

SO, yeah. I'm freaking, and will be for the next few hours.

If I don't get it, at least I got a private rooooom!

Ok, I was going to post that video, but I can't find an unrestricted one on youtube. Take my word for it...amazingness!

So, I'm officially single.

It's been a long time coming.

Kathryn, is it ok if I come to your wedding alone?

Anyway...I'm sitting in the gallery in the Student Union today...guarding baskets with my life.
The baskets are REALLY cool, I'm actually tying to take a pciture right now of the one's I'm sitting behind..but people keep looking at me funny. There...I don't know where it is on the page, though.

It's hilarious..I have headphones on, behind this pillar thing in the gallery, so people don't always see me when they enter...and I can tell they're thinking "I wonder what she's listening to?"

Hanson's MMM Bop right now...rockin' out, too!

So yeah...I'm single..and it's weird. But ok. But not. All at the same time.

I'm just procrastinating. I have SO MUCH to do this week. Geez.

I've applied for an RA position here at UNCA. I had my first interview on Friday. It was a panel interview where four people just asked me questions and rated my answers, and it was funny/nerve racking/weird all at the same time.
I walked in and the CD (Community Director) for my dorm, Founders, was on the panel for my interview. The first thing he says to me is "So Courtney, is it true you went to Appalachian?" And I said, "Yes sir, I did"...and then he fires back with "Well, I'm a Michagin fan." What am I supposed to say to that? So, I said, "Ohh, is that a big 'X' on my application, should I just leave now?" (In a joking way) And I think he knew I was there to play ball.
So, they asked my the expected questions, Why do you think you'd make a good RA, what do you like about UNCA? Why do you want to be an RA, etc.
But (sidenote) this interview is part of two required interviews, there is actually a third one that's optional, if you think you didn't do well in your pannel interview, you can set up an individual interview with a person from a list. So, when I left, they didn't mention the third optional interview. Was this a subtle hint?
Anyway, during the interview, one of the questions was "If there was a fire, and assuming all of your residents were out of the building, what would to go in and try to save?" And my response, my computer. Now, I had amazing reasons for wanting to save my computer. First of all, it's new. I got it in January. And it's like my baby. I don't let anyone touch it, or scratch it, and I love it dearly. But my answer verbatun was, "My computer." "Why" "It's like my baby, I just got it, and I love it" "What kind of computer is it?" "A black macbook." Ryan (my CD, who is also black): "Ohh, a BLACK macbook" ...(my inner monologue "Jesus Christ, what have I done?" It was supposed to an answer like "It's my baby, it has EVERYTHING, it's got my work, pictures of all of my family, (and it's not even paid off yet)" but that just didn't come out.

Anyway, I have the second "interview" which is a group interview where they want you to play stupid games and act like you enjoy it, and participate and not think it's lame. That's tomorrow night..and I keep forgetting about it, shit.

I find out Friday if I got it, and it's starting to really scare me. I really want it. It really does seem like a good job for me. And it seems fun. Plus, I'll come back to school 10 days early and get to make some new friends.

I also keep forgetting about my stats meeting today at 4:45 after class..errr.

So, I think that's all right now. I'm listening to Billy Joel's "Piano Man" if the weird guy who's been in here WAYYY too long wants to know.

OK, so I stole this from Crystal's blog..

Now, I have very different views about religion in general. Because of that, I was not upset by the picture at all. In fact, I think it's a statement that should make people think.

I'm not tying to question anyone's views on religion, AT ALL. (Truth is, I'd rather talk about politics than religion.) But, this picture has got to make you think, right?

My most used phrase to date, "I'm just sayin'"

We got inches away, but I never even got close..

This video isn't great, and the sound isn't either...but I LOVE this song.

Anyway, I songmeanings.com'ed "Falling Slowly" and there was one quote that made the most sense to me ever --

"It's one of those songs that you can't explain its meaning, but you know exactly what it's saying because you've been there... and those are the most beautiful songs."

I still don't know what it means, but it's such a great song. One day, I can put it into words.

Until then.. I'll be trying to figure out how to get 20 classes done in 3 semesters.

We still have tiiiiiiiiime.

I was procrastinating, like I do..and then he started talking to me.

And I'm no longer procrastinating..but trying to figure out why the hell he started talking to me, out of the blue, about problems he's having with his girlfriend. All the while, ignoring the fact that we haven't talked for a while, with no reason, AND dodging the question of why.

All I have to say is, Kathryn, I'm glad you're getting MARRIED and don't have to deal with this anymore.

And now, "Slowly Falling" which just won an OSCAR!!! I don't know what this song means, compeltely, but I know that somehow, it has an effect on me...when I figure it out, I'll letcha know.

I feel like I just got hit by a Mack Truck.

I have a Corporate Finance test tomorrow...and I'm not ready for it, but I wasn't ready to read that the guy I liked was dating his ex-girlfriend again.

I hate this.

I hate the fact that I cannot just ignore this until it doesn't matter yet.

And I felt it, and I knew it was coming, but I wasn't ready for it.

I'm supposed to go home, and I don't even want to anymore. I just don't want to be there. I don't know where I want to be now.

I thought I had had a release wtih the last post, I thought I was going to feel so much better that it wouldn't matter. Now, there's something else bothering me, and I honestly can't figure it out anymore. And that's scary. Shouldn't I be able to know what's going on with me?
